Electricity is an incredibly expensive thing. If you don’t believe me, ask my (soon to be ex) flatmate. He sees gigantic dollar signs flying out of the wall all the time. He lives in Hell.

Thanks to his unspoken education, I have been able to compile a list of my things that use a lot of expensive electricity and had to be unplugged when I was out of the room.

• Shaver charger
• Cordless phone base station
• Xbox
• TV on Standby
• the hall light when I am in the bathroom
• Inkjet printer on standby
• 12W halogen lamp on maximum dim
• power extension cords that have nothing plugged into them
• clock radio

I drove past my new house last night*. The outside light was on, yet no-one was outside using it, and also I could not see anyone broodily sulking. It is gonna be so good.

*not stalking, it is on my usual route home.
